Dr. Bryan Mih is board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics with the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). Dr. Mih graduated cum laude from the University of California, Riverside, with a BS in Biology, and received his Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Columbia University School of Public Health. His medical degree (MD) is from the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Hawaii Pediatric Residency Program and then served as the Pediatric Chief Resident and Assistant Program Director. He has received the Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award and the Best Nursery Teaching Award from the JABSOM Department of Pediatrics.
He has been instrumental in tobacco and nicotine control efforts in Hawaii and nationwide. He was elected to the Executive Committee for the AAP’ Section on Nicotine and Tobacco Prevention and Treatment. He served on the Board of Directors for the Hawai‘I Public Health Institute (HIPHI) from 2014 to 2020.
Since 2010, Dr. Mih has been the Medical Director for the Kapi‘olani Smokefree Families Tobacco & Nicotine Cessation Program at KMCWC. He is the Tobacco Control Chair and the E-cigarette Chapter Champion for the AAP Hawaii Chapter. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) presented a Special Achievement Award to Dr. Mih for his efforts in tobacco prevention and control. The Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawaii (CTFH) recognized Dr. Mih in 2020 with the ‘A’a Award (for outstanding personal contribution to the efforts of CTFH) and in 2023 recognized him as the Outstanding Advocate of the Year.
